Job summary

Yield Engineering Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Fremont, CA to design and develop high-tech tooling for nanoscale processes. You will plan, conceptualize, and create robust mechanical assemblies, with emphasis on manufacturability and reliability.

You will work on critical tool architectures, develop 3D models, and collaborate across teams to meet customer specifications while optimizing tool performance and ease of manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years related experience in mechanical design.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and sheet plastic fabrication, CNC machining techniques, welding, and material selection.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
• Develop design concepts for tool architectures including steel and stainless structures and handling systems.
• Create supporting component designs such as enclosures, water/gas systems, heating/cooling systems.
• Design system components to meet process requirements and customer specs.
• Produce 3D SolidWorks models with understanding of automation and motion.
