Job summary

GLOBAL Automation Technologies, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support industrial robot automation projects by designing mechanical hardware, EOAT, fixturing, and system layouts. The ideal candidate has mid-to-senior tooling design experience and is proficient in Onshape or SolidWorks, with Onshape as the primary design platform.

You will lead design tasks, coordinate with vendors and teams, review drawings, and travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or equivalent experience.
Minimum five years of mechanical design in an industrial automation environment.
Experience designing robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), fixturing, and miscellaneous automation equipment.
Proficiency in Onshape strongly preferred; SolidWorks candidates considered and must learn Onshape.
2D AutoCAD proficiency for layout tasks and related tasks.

Responsibilities

Design and detail mechanical hardware for automation system projects including system layouts and tooling.
Execute EOAT design with emphasis on precision, functionality and manufacturability.
Perform layout tasks using AutoCAD and Onshape; lead 3D CAD work in Onshape.
Create/receive 3D simulation data as part of design lineup.
Lead design engineer on assigned projects and manage workload across tasks.
Attend meetings and support mechanical/electrical hardware integration.
Lead vendor design reviews and schedule tasks.
Manage drawing control and budget considerations.
Travel to customer sites as needed.
