Job summary

Diversified Recruitment Services, LLC seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop custom automation equipment from concept to installation. You will collaborate with program managers, controls engineers, and customers to deliver robust, cost-effective mechanical solutions and produce complete manufacturing drawings.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in automation or machine-building environments, strong SolidWorks skills, and the ability to travel for design reviews and field

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design in automation or custom machinery.
• Experience designing automated equipment and tooling with SolidWorks.
• Ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites for design reviews and support.
• Ability to create complete manufacturing drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Design custom automation equipment, machinery, mechanisms, tooling, fixtures, and EOL testing systems.
• Develop mechanical designs from concepts and requirements provided by Program Management and customers.
• Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings.
• Prepare complete drawing packages for fabrication and assembly, including dimensions and tolerances.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with design methodologies and ensure integration with controls and pneumatic components.
• Work with shop personnel to resolve design and fabrication issues.
• Develop mechanical solutions for production and manufacturing challenges.
• Design for reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
• Support installation, startup, and troubleshooting at customer facilities.
• Improve legacy mechanical designs and communicate with suppliers on components and materials.
