Job summary

Standard Bots seeks a Machine Designer to lead mechanical design for custom automation solutions. You’ll transform customer data into fully engineered cell layouts, EOAT, fixtures, and documentation, collaborating with Automation Engineers from kickoff to handoff.

Emphasis on precision, manufacturability, and clear drawings. You will also present CAD models to customer teams, drive design reviews, and maintain a reusable component library for fixturing and tooling.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on CAD design experience in industrial automation or robotics.
• Portfolio of completed automation or equipment designs from concept to installation.
• Demonstrated experience designing EOAT, fixtures, or automation components for robots.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and fabrication drawings for automation cells, EOAT, fixtures, guards, and supports using SolidWorks.
• Design to manufacturing constraints for sheet metal, welded structures, and machined parts.
• Manage BOMs for sourcing and procurement.
• Apply GD&T to ensure manufacturability and inspectability across production runs.
• Conduct FEA to validate safety margins before fabrication release.
