Job summary

YER USA in the Raleigh–Durham area seeks a hands-on Design Engineer with a strong mechanical design foundation to move concepts from CAD to working EOAT solutions. You will design automation and EOAT tools, create documentation and BOMs, and, as the team grows, assist in assembly and testing.

The role offers broad ownership with potential progression into engineering management, travel to customer sites and international training opportunities, all within a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate degree acceptable with strong relevant experience.
• Junior to mid-level mechanical design experience; EOAT experience desirable.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Knowledge of drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing/assembly principles.
• Exposure to pneumatic components, sensors, grippers, vacuum technology is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design EOAT and automation solutions for injection molding and industrial automation.
• Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Develop BOMs and support costing and quoting.
• Collaborate with Project Management on design requirements and milestones.
• Provide hands-on support for construction and assembly of tools.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, tool trials, and engineering changes.
• Coordinate with Sales, customers, suppliers, and international colleagues.
• Assist in inventory replenishment and interface with European HQ.
• Contribute to process improvements and scalable ways of working.
• Travel to customer sites for tool trials and validation.
