Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker Inc. in Towson, MD, is seeking an Engineer, D/E/WALT Cordless Power Tools, to join our Global Tools & Storage team. This role focuses on design, prototyping and testing across the product lifecycle, ensuring quality and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will collaborate with marketing, reliability and field teams, participate in stack-ups, 3D modeling, and root-cause analysis, and may travel internationally to manufacturing sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3+ years of experience.
• Computer literate; MS Word, Power Point, Excel, 2D/3D CAD, FEA
• Ability to dissect problems to find root causes and craft solutions
• Enjoys hands-on building, testing and debugging tools throughout development
• Quality focus: statistical tools, process capability, DOE’s, stack‑ups, GD&T
• Coordinate internal resources for testing and analysis
• Experience with full design cycles (~2 years) in a dynamic environment
• Possible international travel to manufacturing locations

Responsibilities

• Support the design process to meet quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives.
• Hands-on concept development, prototyping, product testing, data collection and specs definition.
• Carry out stack-ups and system analysis for lifetime consistency.
• Investigate design issues and test failures; implement corrective actions.
• Construct 3D models to evaluate design options.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define customer requirements and tests.
• Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers to develop a product from start to finish.
• Support builds of engineering, manufacturing and pilot lots for correct assembly and testing.
• Support the Engineering process to deliver robust products.
