Corning is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II for Optical Communications New Product Development in Keller, TX. You will develop fiber optic hardware components and assemblies from concept to manufacturing, leveraging Creo Parametric and hands-on DFM expertise.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, prototyping and customer teams, perform FEA and other mechanical analyses, maintain design records in Windchill, and drive rapid prototyping and design reviews to deliver robust,

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial/related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in product development or mechanical design.
• 1+ year of CAD experience, preferably Creo Parametric.
• 1+ year of designing sheet metal and plastic molded components.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability, tolerances, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with Windchill or similar PLM systems.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop fiber optic hardware components and assemblies in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet requirements and are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Use CAD (Creo) to create and refine parts and assemblies involving sheet metal and molded components.
• Perform FEA and other mechanical analyses to support design and optimization.
• Contribute to a systems-level product development approach within an integrated architecture.
• Maintain design records and documentation in Windchill or similar systems.
• Lead rapid prototyping and participate in design reviews and testing.
