Job summary

TOOL in Marblehead, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the CAD design and prototyping efforts across multiple projects. You will interface with clients, source materials, manage schedules, and present models in customer design reviews onsite.

Responsibilities include collaborating with designers, working with TOOL Shenzhen, and traveling to client locations or trade shows as needed. A background in consumer/product design and SolidWorks is required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of design engineering experience taking products from concept to production.
• Strong aptitude for mechanical mechanism design and engineering problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal team cooperation and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead, advise, and assist in the mechanical design of project work to assure on time submission of deliverables.
• Participate in brainstorm sessions and collaborate with designers to develop solutions to mechanical challenges.
• Work closely with the TOOL Shenzhen office to transition projects from development to manufacturing.
• Engage with outside vendors to support research, prototyping, and certification of products.
• Assemble, test, and debug prototypes and manufacturing samples to assess viability.
• Communicate with electrical engineering partners domestically and internationally to facilitate cohesive designs.
• Interact with clients in business development presentations and design/engineering reviews.
