Job summary

TOOL is seeking Industrial Designers to join a small team in Marblehead, MA to develop consumer and commercial products onsite. Designers guide research, brainstorming, and concept development, using Adobe CC products, Procreate on iPads, web tools, and 3D modeling.

Responsibilities include creating product solutions with strong aesthetics and brand identity, developing CAD in SolidWorks, producing digital sketches with color/material/finish, and visualizing photorealism in KeyShot.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Industrial Design or equivalent experience.
• 1–3+ years leading high-priority industrial design work.
• Experience in design consultancy or corporate design teams.
• Strong understanding of human-centered design process.

Responsibilities

• Create product solutions that achieve strong aesthetic merit and establish a brand identity appropriate to the business.
• Demonstrate a diversity of technical skills including CAD development in SolidWorks.
• Produce excellent digital sketching with attention to color, material & finish
• Lead the development of new product concepts that deliver new value and execute on client goals.
• Combine design methods to address client business challenges.
• Innovate while considering manufacturing directives, materials, construction, mechanisms, color and surface finish.
