Job summary

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design and validate mechanical assemblies for high-performance servers. You will lead design concepts, create prototypes, and work closely with manufacturing, systems, and suppliers to meet demanding timelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of experience, with strong Creo and DFMA skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical and structural design.
• Experience with metals, alloys, and plastics.
• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing (e.g., stamping, injection molding, sheet metal, die-cutting).
• Proficiency with Creo is highly preferred; experience with other 3D CAD systems will be considered.
• Skilled in DFM, DFA, and statistical tolerance analysis.
• Experience with structural FEA (e.g., Creo Simulate) is a plus.
• Knowledge of computer hardware industry is desirable.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and adaptability skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create 3D-printed prototypes to support iterative design and testing.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing and field installation or retrofit activities.
• Analyze technical issues and implement timely, cost-effective solutions.
• Generate engineering documents including drawings, manuals, and other technical deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Interface directly with customers and suppliers to define mechanical requirements.
• Support time-sensitive development initiatives alongside systems and development engineering teams.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives for process, quality, and cost improvements.
