Job summary

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, seeks a Principal Mechanical Architect to craft server and rack-level solutions for hyperscale customers. You will partner with customers and suppliers to translate requirements into next-generation designs, providing technical leadership across engineering, management, and business teams.

Responsibilities include developing long-term server technology strategies, driving system-level integration, and shaping power, BMC/UEFI firmware, and OS/driver architectures

Qualifications

• BS or MS with 12+ years of direct industry experience.
• Experience with high-speed design and signal integrity issues.
• Experience with implementation of high-speed serial buses and fabrics (SAS/SATA, PCIe, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of server & rack architecture, system level design, and board level design.
• Strong knowledge of BMC functionality, telemetry, and security/Root of Trust.
• Experience with new product development life cycle and cross-functional development.
• Ability to create detailed architecture specifications and drive business cases for new products.
• Understanding of datacenter network topologies.
• Optional: Windows Server and Linux OS knowledge; virtualization (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V).
• Optional: knowledge of software drivers and network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term hyperscale server technology strategies for customers.
• Drive integration of system-level engineering strategy.
• Develop technical relationships with core technology ecosystem.
• Identify differentiation opportunities and lead thought leadership discussions.
• Work with customers on concept and development of custom hyperscale server/rack designs.
• Solve performance/operational problems and deliver business value through ZT hardware.
• Design server architectures and production-ready implementations.
• Design server motherboard and chassis layouts; rack-level/data-center design.
• Oversee power design: AC/DC converters, power budgeting, and debug.
• Contribute to UEFI/BMC firmware and OS/drivers integration.
• Experience with AMI/OpenBMC and Redfish; security/Root of Trust considerations.
• Educate and guide cross-functional teams; write architecture specs.
