Job summary

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is seeking a Product Development Engineer (Mechanical Design) to drive the concept, design, verification, and qualification of high-speed IO products for 112Gb signaling and beyond. You will ensure manufacturability and alignment with customer requirements across electrical, mechanical, and environmental targets.

You will collaborate with Marketing, suppliers, and global teams, performing FMEA, FEA, and tolerancing, and leading design reviews while interfacing

Qualifications

4–7 years of industry experience; high-speed cable assembly or connector design preferred.
ABET-level engineering coursework with relevant work experience.
Knowledge of signal integrity performance is a plus.
Industry standards knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop cable assemblies and IO connector systems from proposal to qualifications.
Perform FMEA, tolerance analysis, DFM, FEA, and risk analysis.
Define customer needs with Marketing and ensure performance requirements are met.
Collaborate with internal/external manufacturing to optimize production processes.
Lead design reviews and ensure GD&T accuracy on drawings.
Define verification and product qualification test plans and manage first article inspections.
