Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Chicago, IL, seeks a Sr. Product Development Engineer (Mechanical Design) to drive high-speed IO product development. You will lead concept to qualification, ensure manufacturability, and work with global teams to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include design reviews, risk assessment, and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Strong experience with SolidWorks, FEA (ANSYS), and GD&T is required. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical product development.
• Experience with high-speed IO connector design and/or cable assemblies preferred.
• Knowledge of design for signal integrity is a plus.
• Experience with GD&T, FMEA and tolerancing principles.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop high-speed IO products from proposal to qualification.
• Perform design reviews and ensure manufacturability across production processes.
• Collaborate with marketing, customers, and suppliers to define requirements.
• Lead verification and qualification test plans for prototypes and pilots.
• Communicate technical risk and provide design improvements.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
