Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer (Mechanical Design) to join the High Speed IO Connector team in the Chicago area. You will lead concept creation, detailed design and qualification for 112Gb signaling and beyond, ensuring manufacturability and meeting customer requirements.

The role involves DFMEA, tolerance analysis, FEA, GD&T, and collaboration with Marketing, suppliers and global teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical product design.
• Experience in high-speed cable assemblies or connectors is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity and design for reliability.
• Ability to communicate with global teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept generation and detailed design of IO connector systems.
• Perform DFMEA, tolerance analysis, FEA, and GD&T checks.
• Define product, application and packaging specifications.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams and suppliers.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
