Jobot in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own the full design lifecycle from concept to production release. You will create detailed 3D models using SolidWorks, design with manufacturing in mind (sheet metal, CNC, fabrication), and maintain BOMs across assemblies.

You’ll collaborate with sales and product teams, support production, and run simulations to ensure reliability. A Bachelor’s in Engineering and ~5+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related) preferred.
• ~5+ years of manufacturing experience in a design role.
• Experience taking concepts to production with DFM mindset.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with BOMs, ERP workflows and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the full design lifecycle—from concept through production release.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design with real manufacturing capabilities in mind (sheet metal, CNC, fabrication).
• Build clean BOMs and maintain part numbers across assemblies.
• Collaborate with sales and product teams to realize customer-driven designs.
• Support production, manufacturing, and field teams with design updates.
• Run simulations, calculations, and failure analysis to ensure reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement through design changes and ECNs.
