Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Belding, MI to own design details turning concepts into buildable equipment. You will create 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and manuals, collaborating closely with senior engineers and the shop floor to drive practical solutions.

You should have an Associate's degree in Engineering and 1–5 years' SolidWorks experience, with a hands-on mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver reliable machinery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create 3D part files and large assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings ready for production.
• Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials.
• Support senior mechanical engineers in the design and release of equipment.
• Assist with component sizing and selection, including bearings, motors, cylinders and structures.
• Review drawings for accuracy before they reach the manufacturing floor.
• Work directly with manufacturing to troubleshoot and resolve build issues.
• Create complete equipment manuals for internal and customer use.
