Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on DFM and DFA to deliver robust, manufacturable hardware for autonomous systems. You will own components from concept through prototyping and high-rate production, ensuring scalable, mission-ready designs.

You’ll apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T, create detailed manufacturing instructions, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Supply Chain teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience with DFM/DFA.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, Creo) and PDM/PLM systems.
• ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) expertise for drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with weldments, precision machining, sheet metal, injection molding tooling, composites, and bonding.
• Ability to create clear manufacturing documentation and assembly instructions.
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain US Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design for Scale: maximize production throughput, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Multi-Discipline Mechanical Design across welding, machining, molding, composites.
• Drawing Definition & GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Production Enablement with detailed work instructions and process sheets.
• Engineering Analysis including tolerance stack-ups and DFMEAs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Mentor junior hardware engineers in drawing standards and manufacturing practices.
