Base is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to design enclosures, structures, and assemblies inside home batteries and related hardware. You’ll own parts from concept through production: CAD, analysis, prototypes, testing, and release to manufacturing at volume.

You will build 3D models and production drawings, run thermal and structural analyses, select materials, and design for manufacturing in collaboration with electrical engineers. This is a hands-on startup role in-person.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 3+ years designing consumer or industrial hardware where performance or safety is critical.
• Strong 3D and 2D CAD skills.
• Hands-on prototyping, including 3D printing and CNC machining.
• Working knowledge of how materials behave under thermal and mechanical loads.
• Experience releasing parts and supporting them through production.

Mansioni

• Own the design of mechanical components and assemblies, from concept through production.
• Build 3D models and production drawings with GD&T and tolerance stacks.
• Run thermal, stress, and structural analysis, by hand and in simulation.
• Select materials for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design for manufacturing at volume, coordinating with suppliers on tooling and processes.
• Integrate with electrical engineers on batteries, wiring, and enclosures.
• Write test plans, build test setups, and use results to close out designs.
