Job summary

Material Hybrid Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support battery pack production by designing fixtures, jigs, and automated test equipment. You will work closely with production, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and product quality.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design skills, practical aptitude, and a track record of taking equipment from concept through fabrication to production use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, or extensive experience.
• Minimum of one year in production/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CATIA for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Hands-on fabrication and assembly ability.
• Understanding tolerances and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical fixtures, jigs, tooling, and assembly aids in CATIA for battery pack manufacturing.
• Develop mechanical systems for automated manufacturing and testing with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Create detailed part and assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and troubleshoot tooling and equipment.
• Support commissioning and validation to meet production safety and quality.
• Collaborate with operators to identify challenges and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to reduce downtime and improve repeatability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops to fabricate components.
• Maintain design documentation and update work instructions.
