Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Coordinator to support commercial and institutional projects within its Building Engineering Services Group. You will coordinate mechanical aspects, prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing, and supervise CAD technicians while coordinating with architects and other disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, strong knowledge of HVAC loads and energy analysis, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software such

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience with HVAC design, energy analysis and mechanical specifications.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
• Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
• Perform other duties as needed
