Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Component Design Engineer for Turbomachinery - Cold End Design (Fans, Compressors, and Rotatives). You will develop turbomachinery components meeting aero-thermal requirements and support manufacturing.

You will lead design definition, GD&T, tolerance analysis, supplier reviews, validation plans, and cross-functional teaming to ensure on-target production and fleet readiness. Hybrid work with relocation assistance possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of design experience or higher education in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
• Advanced degrees accepted (Master, JD, PhD) in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Create component design definitions in line with module, system, and customer requirements.
• Establish GD&T, tolerance stacks, and support manufacturing to produce conforming hardware.
• Review supplier documentation and assess non-conforming hardware and change proposals.
• Develop validation plans to demonstrate compliance to requirements.
• Present design solutions to program leadership and stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, service, and aftermarket issue resolution.
