Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical BIM Intern in the United States (Missouri, Kansas City) to gain hands-on experience on BIM projects and assist our engineering team. You will work under supervision, applying BIM standards and procedures on various design and construction phases.

Preferred candidates are engineering students with at least 1 year toward a degree and a GPA of 3.0+; familiarity with Revit is a plus; local candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting BIM projects using standard BIM techniques.
  • Work under the guidance of senior BIM specialists and engineers on small to large design/construction projects.
  • Participate in mentoring programs and engage with company leaders.
  • Perform assignments under supervision of the Section Manager or other professionals.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Mechanical BIM Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard BIM techniques and procedures.
  • Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level BIM specialists and engineers to assist with routine assignments for small to large projects in various phases of design and construction.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Section Manager or other professionals
  • Perform other duties as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer 1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software packages (e.g. Revit) related to field of study/industry.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
