Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical BIM Intern in Kansas City, MO. You will gain hands-on experience applying BIM techniques on real projects under senior BIM specialists and engineers, helping with design and construction tasks.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Prefer 1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Revit) is preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on projects by applying BIM techniques.
  • Assist senior BIM specialists and engineers on design/construction phases.
  • Engage with mentors and program leaders through onboarding and development activities.
  • Perform assignments under supervision of the Section Manager or other professionals.
  • Take on additional duties as needed.

In the role of Mechanical BIM Intern, we'll count on you to:
  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard BIM techniques and procedures.
  • Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level BIM specialists and engineers to assist with routine assignments for small to large projects in various phases of design and construction.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Section Manager or other professionals
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software packages (e.g. Revit) related to field of study/industry.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
