Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to projects ranging from healthcare and data centers to transportation and federal facilities. You'll gain real-world experience under supervision, applying standard engineering techniques on diverse assignments.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program with strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills, plus basic MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects (Healthcare, Data Centers, Water-Wastewater, Resources, Transportation, Federal, Aviation Facilities, Hospitality/Entertainment, Corporate Real Estate, Finance, etc.)
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed

Mechanical Engineering Intern

In the role of Mechanical Engineering Intern, we’ll count on you to:

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects (Healthcare, Data Centers, Water-Wastewater, Resources, Transportation, Federal, Aviation Facilities, Hospitality/Entertainment, Corporate Real Estate, Finance, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 3 years completed (at end of semester) toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages (Autodesk Revit, IESVE, Trane Trace 700/3D) related to field of study/industry
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program

  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
