Job summary

Laitram Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble stainless steel seafood processing equipment and related machinery. You will follow engineering drawings to guide assembly, perform QC checks, and record labor to each job.

You may build small and large assemblies and shipping skids for national and international shipping. Applicants should read and interpret drawings, operate hand tools, and demonstrate strong communication to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Must read and interpret engineering drawings.
Must have basic math skills and ability to read/use a tape measure.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines and ship dates.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Willing to cross train in other work centers as needed.
Self-managed team player with a good attitude.
Detail oriented with passion for doing a job well.
Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Some overtime and limited travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical equipment in line with engineering drawings and report issues affecting form, fit or function.
Perform QC checks and document results.
Use software to record labor to each job.
Build small and large-scale seafood and poultry equipment and conveying systems.
Build shipping/crating skids for national/international shipping.
