Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician in Minneapolis, MN. The role focuses on assembling components with correct fit and fastening of subassemblies, using basic hand and power tools, and performing light wiring for displays similar to those in phone stores.

The position is on-site, 1st shift from 6:30 am to 3 pm with possible overtime; second shift if needed runs 3 pm to 1:30 am with overtime on Fridays. Benefits and PTO included for full-time employees in this contract role.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using tape measures; must pass tape measure test.
• Minimum of 6 months of assembly experience.

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling components by ensuring correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies. This role involves using basic hand and power tools and performing light wiring tasks under displays similar to those found in phone stores.

Responsibilities

• Examine connections for correct fit and fasten parts and subassemblies.
• Utilize basic hand and power tools effectively.
• Perform light wiring tasks under displays found in phone stores.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency in using tape measures, must pass tape measure test.
• Minimum of 6 months of assembly experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in woodworking, cabinet making, and carpentry.
• Familiarity with sawmills and the ability to operate power tools.
• Capability to work effectively in a team setting with 1-2 people.
• Taking pride in workmanship.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, well-lit, and organized, with air conditioning and humidity control. The position offers a 1st shift schedule from 6:30 am to 3 pm with the possibility of up to 10 hours of overtime per week and occasional Saturday shifts from 6 am to 11 am. If a 2nd shift is required, it runs Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 1:30 am, with overtime available on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
