Kelly Services is hiring Mechanical Assemblers for a premier manufacturing client in Kearny, NJ. This direct-hire role operates on the 1st shift, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a pay range of $23 to $25 per hour.

The Mechanical Assembler will perform mechanical assembly and final integration from drawings, specifications, and schedules. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on tool experience are required to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical assembly or related experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and prints.
• Knowledge of common hand tools.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and products to completion.
• Read and interpret mechanical assembly and fabrication drawings.
• Perform product assembly according to drawings and work instructions.
• Use hand tools and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
• Work independently while following production schedules.
• Verify parts and components are properly installed and assembled.
• Communicate quality or production issues to supervisors.
• Assist coworkers with production tasks as needed.
• Follow ISO 9001 quality-system requirements.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembler performs the mechanical assembly and final integration of manufactured products while working from production drawings, specifications, and schedules. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands‑on tool experience, and the ability to work accurately within established quality and safety requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and products to completion.
• Read and interpret mechanical assembly and fabrication drawings.
• Perform product assembly according to drawings and work instructions.
• Use hand tools and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
• Work independently while following established production schedules.
• Verify parts and components are properly installed and assembled.
• Communicate quality or production issues to Shop Leads or supervisors.
• Assist coworkers with additional production tasks as needed.
• Participate in shop cleanup and organization.
• Follow ISO 9001 quality-system requirements.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or related experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly prints.
• Strong knowledge of common hand tools.
• Ability to measure, align, fasten, and assemble components accurately.
• Electrical wiring familiarity is helpful but not required for the mechanical pay tier.
• Ability to follow production schedules and work instructions.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds when required.
