Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking an experienced assembler to plan and perform mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly, testing, fabrication, and inspection on a range of products. You will use production sheets, blueprints, and verbal instructions to choose methods and sequences, while maintaining daily production targets.

The role requires at least 4 years of related experience and a HS diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience in manufacturing.
• HS Diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

What You Will Do

• Plan and perform a variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly, testing, fabrication, and inspection operations on various products.
• Maintain hourly production to meet daily plans and ensure operators follow standard work procedures.
• Determine methods and sequence of assembly operations using production sheets, wire lists, samples, blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions.
• Utilize small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
• Identify and select components for integration into sub-assembly and assembly units.
• Perform set-ups, alignments, and adjustments while maintaining tolerances as per instructions.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble, and test units as required.
• Provide work leadership to lower-level assemblers by assigning tasks, reviewing progress, and monitoring results.
• Facilitate and oversee meetings to communicate production goals, address challenges, and recognize achievements.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 4 years of experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly processes.
• Prior work experience using small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, and screwdrivers.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Familiarity with computers, test equipment, label printers, and software tools such as Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Prior experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
• High-level communication and leadership skills.
