Job summary

RTX is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Assembler I in the Cargo Assembly group. The role involves following engineering drawings, performing basic assembly, testing, and kitting for shipment under supervision.

A strong emphasis on quality, teamwork, and safe work habits is expected. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, maintaining workstation inventory, and ensuring product quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.

Position Overview

An entry‑level Mechanical Assembler I in the Cargo Assembly group, working under the direct supervision of a Manufacturing Team Leader. The role involves performing assembly operations as detailed in the Manufacturing Order and engineering drawings, functional testing of products, and kitting/packaging hardware for shipment. Quality orientation, teamwork, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
  • Operate hand tools, air tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
  • Perform quality work checks, identify product defects, and record identified defects.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
