Job summary

RTX in Jamestown, ND is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Assembler I to join the Cargo Assembly group. Under supervision, you will perform assembly operations as per manufacturing orders and engineering drawings, conduct functional testing, and prepare hardware for shipment.

You will read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and maintain a clean, safe work area while contributing to quality checks and timely production. This position requires US citizenship and onsite work.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent vocational/technical education.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand up to 8 hours.

This is an entry level position into the Cargo Assembly group. As a Mechanical Assembler I, you will work under the direct supervision of a Manufacturing Team Leader. This position is responsible for performing assembly operations as detailed in the Manufacturing Order and engineering drawing, functional testing of product, and kitting/packaging of hardware for shipment. Individuals must be quality oriented, able to work in a team environment, and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Reads, interprets and follows blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
• Operates hand tools, air tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
• Maintains inventory of product in workstations.
• Performs quality work checks.
• Identify product defects and records identified defects.
• Reworks and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
