The responsibilities include reading blueprints, assembling machinery, inspecting finished products, and using precision tools to ensure conformance with specifications. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude and be willing to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets assembly blueprints or specs.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Able to read inspection equipment.
• Understands Bills of Material and CAD files.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and plan assembly operations.
• Inspect, operate, and test finished products to verify specs.
• Position components for assembly manually or with tools.
• Verify parts conformance using calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
• Assemble systems with piping, wiring, and components using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.
• Deburr and finish parts to fit and function.
• Drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.
• Rework or replace damaged parts or assemblies.
• Assemble gear systems and align gears in gearboxes.
• Operate milling or grinding machines to shape parts.
• Maintain and lubricate parts and components.

Mechanical Assembler

Adecco Staffing is partnering with a local manufacturer in Woonsocket, RI seeking a 1st shift mechanical assembler. The hours for this role will be6AM-2:30 Pm Mon-Fri. This is a direct hire opportunity with a pay range of $50-$60K.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.
• Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.
• Position or align components for assembly manually or using hoists.
• Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
• Fasten or install piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.
• Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand or power tools.
• Layout, drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.
• Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.
• Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.
• Set up and operate metalworking machines, such as milling or grinding, to shape or fabricate parts.
• Maintain and lubricate parts or components.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience assembling large machinery
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and mechanical ability
• Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal instructions
• Ability to read inspection equipment
• Assembly techniques with focus on the following: Pneumatics, laser alignment, Bills of Material, CAD file reading, rigging, and other assembly-related tasks
• Must be self-motivated team player and have a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work independently
• Must have some personal hand tools such as sockets and wrenches.
• Willing to work overtime, including some Saturdays when requested.

Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
