Job summary

Bergkamp Inc. in Salina, KS is seeking a Mechanical Assembler responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems per engineering specs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of mechanical repair experience or equivalent training/certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics, job orders and procedure manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Ability to follow written or diagram-form instructions.
  • Experience with fabrication, joining and repair of metal objects/equipment.
  • Ability to use forklift, ladder/scaffold, overhead crane and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical assembly work on basic and intermediate sub-assemblies and final assemblies per drawings and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble products.
  • Repair and adjust products to match changes to specifications and resolve assembly problems.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets standards.
  • Test and adjust completed units to meet specifications and customer orders.
  • Identify defects and document issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace; secure tools and materials at end of day.

About The Role

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems according to engineering specifications. You will work with a team of professionals to ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer requirements. Your attention to detail and ability to work with precision tools and equipment will be essential to the success of the team. You will be expected to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of mechanical repair experience or equivalent technical training/certification
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics, job orders and procedure manuals
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Ability to maintain good attendance
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co‑workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co‑workers, management, suppliers, and customers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures
  • Ability to use department equipment such as forklift, ladder/scaffold, overhead crane, and power tools
