Ohio Transmission Corporation is seeking an Assembler 1 to work from drawings and build electro-mechanical components. You will test assemblies, use a range of tools, and contribute to quality and on-time production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical/pneumatic components per drawings and work orders.
  • Test assembled valves, pumps, wire harnesses, and assemblies.
  • Use hand and power tools as required.
  • Ensure products meet quality and production standards.
  • Prepare finished work for shipment and maintain clean work area.
  • Maintain quality records and follow safety procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

About this role

Competitive Pay:This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20/hr. to $25/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

Position: Assembler 1

Essential Duties
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instruction such as work order process sheets.
  • Assemble electro-mechanical / pneumatic components, as required.
  • Testing of assembled valves, pumps, wire harness, and other component assemblies.
  • Utilize a variety of handheld tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, crimpers, cutters, power and other tools as required.
  • Responsible for product quality and production quantity - work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion.
  • Prepare and package finished work for shipment and/or storage, as required
  • Gain knowledge of fabrication and cut shop processes
  • Maintain quality records, forms, or other pertinent data, as instructed or required.
  • Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by lead/manager.
Education / Skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years' of related electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • Ability to use, read, and interpret drawings and measuring scale or tape proficiently.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Ability to work in environments that may include:
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Fumes or airborne particles
    • Painting chemicals and solvents
    • Electrical equipment
Physical Requirements
  • Sit/Stand for prolonged periods at a bench or table to package materials
  • Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Retrieving and / or filing documentation from other departments.
  • Handling - moving, lifting (up to 70 lbs) parts to and from bench or cart.
