Whiting Corporation in Illinois is seeking an Assembly Mechanical/Fabricator to assemble industrial machinery, align components, calibrate, and dismantle equipment in a factory setting. You’ll interpret mechanical drawings and read work orders to plan layout and assembly using hand tools, drills, and cranes.
Daily tasks include trimming and fitting components, tack welding, inspecting finished pieces, and using measuring devices.
Assembly Mechanical/Fabricator are responsible for the assembly, precision alignment, calibration, and dismantling of industrial machinery and equipment within a manufacturing plant environment. Tasks include assembling components, tack welding, drilling, measuring, and rigging of large structures. Interpretation of mechanical assembly and engineering drawings and reading work orders is required to plan the layout, alignment and assembly of components using hands, hand tools, bridge cranes or small machines to complete the manufacturing process.
Assembly work is performed in a factory environment collaborating with cross-functional partners. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Some conditions require work from an elevated position (i.e. on a ladder, personal lift) and shop me have slight climate change.
The physical requirements to safely perform the duties of this position include: Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, crouching, good hand/eye coordination for material handling, gripping various hand tools, climbing up/down ladders, verbal communication, and listening to directions.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay Range: $28-$30 per hour based on experience, education, skills and qualifications.
