Job summary

Pro Resources Inc. client seeks a hands-on mechanical assembler to build large industrial machines from blueprints. You must bring your own tools and read blueprints and assembly drawings.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM with possible OT; pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour depending on experience. Duties include assembling equipment with personal tools, installing and aligning metal components, reading a tape measure, lifting up to 80 lbs, and operating a forklift as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must read blueprints/assembly drawings with minimal guidance.
  • Be able to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Have basic math and tool-handling skills.
  • Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs repeatedly.
  • Forklift experience is a plus and welding/electrical skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble large industrial equipment using personal hand tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Install, fit, and secure metal components.
  • Perform fastening, aligning, and adjustment tasks.
  • Troubleshoot basic fit and assembly issues.
  • Lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly and operate a forklift as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Job Duties

Our client is a manufacturer of large industrial machines designed to break down wooden pallets. We're looking for a hands-on mechanical assembler who brings real mechanical skill, and their own tools, to build these machines from the ground up using blueprints and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble large industrial equipment using your own hand tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings with minimal guidance
  • Install, fit, and secure metal and steel components
  • Perform mechanical assembly work including fastening, aligning, and adjusting parts
  • Troubleshoot basic fit and assembly issues during the build process
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Operate a forklift as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
They need people with a mechanical background who can read a tape measure properly. Experience in any of the following areas is valued:
  • Welding
  • Painting
  • Electrical
  • Framing
  • DOT / CDL
Additional requirements:
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly or equipment-building experience required
  • Must have your own basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.) — see attached tool list
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings required
  • Must be able to read a tape measure properly
  • Need to be able to lift 80 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Electrical or welding experience is a plus and may lead to cross-training opportunities
  • Willing to train candidates coming out of welding school — must be willing to learn and open to doing things a new way
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Tool box or cart
  • Ball peen or mini sledge hammer
  • Tape measure “Name brand”
  • Set of screwdrivers
  • Wrench set Metric and Standard
  • Socket set Metric and Standard
  • Combination square
  • Allen wrench set Metric and Standard
  • Weld hood (for welders)
  • Welpers (for welders)
Skills Required

Must have:

  • Able to read a tape measure properly
  • Basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and how to use them
  • Lift 80 lbs
  • Be able to work alone or on a team
  • Knowledge of machinery (lathe, mill, drill press, bandsaw, torch, plasma cutter)
  • Welding (MIG welding not machine or robot welding)
  • Electrical knowledge (Single phase, 3 phase, machine control voltage)
