Responsibilities
- Analyze existing technology applications, processes, and products, considering costs, life cycle, reliability, maintainability, productivity, and long-term support.
- Perform intensive technology research and evaluation of a broad array of alternative solutions to improve existing implementations.
- Define and implement advanced technological implementations and evaluations to provide risk reduction and assess production feasibility of improved and alternate technologies.
- Design, implement, and achieve operational status of advanced technological and engineering approaches to satisfy customer needs.
- Organize, conduct, and achieve detailed cross-functional engineering communication, design, evaluation, and implementations providing novel functionality through multi-disciplined engineering applications.
- Organize technical teams of multi-disciplined personnel to construct a range of technological implementations and solutions for a problem area.
- Participate in multidiscipline design teams and process action team efforts.
- Prepare and present design alternatives to a multidiscipline review peer group.
- Prepare and implement designs that apply multidiscipline solutions achieving breakthrough performance and unique technological applications.
- Diagnose existing and future customer needs and opportunities through informal and formal interaction to understand present operations, limitations, priorities and needs.
- Lead teams in preparing and delivering detailed program presentations including technical solutions, cost estimates, and implementation schedules, using information to provide customer insight into capabilities that could significantly improve operations.
- Ensure clear technical communication using terms, design illustrations, and operating paradigms common to the customer experience.
- Gather, track, maintain, and provide detailed technical, cost, labor, material, and schedule information on programs to senior managers, including cost, schedule, and technical risk assessments at all stages of implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution, with 9 years of directly related experience; or a Master’s degree with 8 years; or a Ph.D. with 3 years.
- 3 years of technical leadership responsibility.

- Significant experience with aircraft structures.
- Experience with United States Air Force systems and processes.
- Experience with the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program.
