Job summary

Mercer Universitys Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) in Warner Robins, GA seeks Mechanical/Aerospace Engineers to support its Aircraft Directorate. Responsibilities include FEA-based analysis of airframe structures, fatigue/fracture assessment, data-driven life estimates, CAD modeling, and development of data packs for repair design.

Design of lab tests and instrumentation to validate models is also required. Applicants should have U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with finite element modeling and analysis.
• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Experience with instrumentation and post-processing of test data.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently or in teams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with NX or MSC Nastran, HyperWorks, Python and/or MATLAB, or SolidWorks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze airframe structures using standard principles, with FEA support as needed.
