Job summary

Mercer Universitys Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) in Warner Robins, GA seeks Mechanical/Aerospace Engineers to support its Aircraft Directorate. Responsibilities include FEA-based analysis of airframe structures, fatigue/fracture assessment, data-driven life estimates, CAD modeling, and development of data packs for repair design.

Design of lab tests and instrumentation to validate models is also required. Applicants should have U.S.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Experience with finite element modeling and analysis.
Experience reading engineering drawings.
Experience with instrumentation and post-processing of test data.
Ability to multi-task and work independently or in teams.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with NX or MSC Nastran, HyperWorks, Python and/or MATLAB, or SolidWorks is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze airframe structures using standard principles, with FEA support as needed.
Perform fatigue and fracture analysis of airframe components.
Analyze flight data to support regime recognition and remaining useful life.
CAD modeling and development of technical data packages for repair design and analysis.
Design laboratory load tests and instrumentation to validate repair designs and structural models.
