Job summary

Wintergreen Resort in Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance on on-road resort vehicles, including oil changes, tire work, and inspections. You will troubleshoot issues and ensure safe operation of cars, trucks, vans, and buses.

This full-time, year-round role requires basic automotive skills, safe use of tools, and a valid driver’s license. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a recreational perk program with discounted resort activities.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive maintenance or mechanic experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of gasoline-powered passenger vehicles and light trucks.
• Ability to safely perform routine maintenance and tire service.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate resort vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other on-road resort vehicles.
• Complete oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and other scheduled service.
• Rotate, balance, repair, and replace tires as needed.
• Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and other common vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns using basic diagnostic tools and recommend appropriate repairs or outside service when needed.
• Complete minor mechanical repairs and replace common wear items as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep commonly used parts and supplies available.
• Follow Wintergreen policies and safety procedures and assist with other vehicle maintenance tasks as assigned.

SUMMARY: Responsible for routine maintenance and repair of Wintergreen's on-road vehicles. This position performs preventive maintenance and basic automotive service, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire balancing and replacement, inspections, and troubleshooting vehicle concerns.
