Job summary

Wintergreen Resort in Virginia is seeking a full-time Mechanic to maintain on-road vehicles, perform oil changes, tire rotations, inspections and basic diagnostics to keep the fleet safe and ready.

You will troubleshoot issues, perform minor repairs, use hand and power tools, and work outdoors in varied weather; a valid driver's license is required and resort vehicle operation may be involved.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive maintenance or mechanic experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of gasoline-powered passenger vehicles and light trucks; diesel experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to safely perform routine maintenance and tire service.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools and basic automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to identify vehicle issues and determine when additional repair or vendor support is needed.
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate resort vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other on-road resort vehicles.
• Complete oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and other scheduled service.
• Rotate, balance, repair, and replace tires as needed.
• Inspect brakes, steering, suspension, batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and other common vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns using basic diagnostic tools and recommend repairs or outside service when needed.
• Complete minor mechanical repairs and replace common wear items as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep commonly used parts and supplies available.
• Follow Wintergreen policies and safety procedures and assist with other vehicle maintenance tasks as assigned.
