Job summary

Wintergreen Resort is seeking seasonal ski shop staff to manage the repair shop operations, perform mounting, testing, and tuning of rental equipment, and assist with daily administration. Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, cash handling, and maintaining shop machinery.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to stand 8–10 hours, lift up to 30 pounds, and obtain major binding certifications. Weekend/evening shifts and winter-hazard conditions are expected.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Repair Shop. Provides maintenance, adjustments, repairs and testing on our rental and customer’s personal equipment. Must also be able to perform general administration duties including. Opening and closing, cash handling and machinery maintenancePRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ability to operate a POS system, along with making daily deposits and being responsible for a daily bankResponsible for opening and closing duties of the repair shop.Responsible for mounting, adjusting, testing, grinding, p-texing, sharpening and waxing rental fleet as well as guest’s skis and snowboards.Responsible for maintaining shop machineryAssist with repair of rental equipmentAssist with mounting new rental skisAssist with pre-season testing of rental equipment.Responsible for accurately testing and documenting equipment involved in incidentsAdhere to department uniform and grooming standards.Report to work on-time for all scheduled shiftsMust follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.Must be able to take on additional assignments and tasks assigned by the managerRepresent Wintergreen Resort in a positive, professional manner.Keep the shop and the surrounding area clean at all timesAssociate will be required to obtain certification from all major binding companies.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Basic record-keeping and report-writing.The ability to obtain current certification from all major binding companies.The ability to handle a hectic day and heavy workload.Must have the knowledge and communication skills to answer questions and provide customers with information on all aspects of skis, boots, bindings and snowboards.Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
