Job summary

Qualifications

• Two-year technical education in automotive or diesel/industrial equipment technology.
• Three-year master technology program can substitute for the two-year education requirement and one year of experience.
• Nine years of related work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
• Valid Class B driver's license with cargo-tanker endorsement on day one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and set work schedules.
• Plan and assign work in the shop and monitor daily shop operations.
• Procure parts and materials; manage inventory for parts, fuel, and oil.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate servicing.
• Complete forms and documentation for inventory control and work orders.
• Coordinate with State Fleet Services on repairs and major expenditures.
• Oversee facilities upkeep including plumbing, electricity, and building grounds.
• Receive and dispatch state fleet vehicles as needed.
