Mechanic Supervisor – Maintenance Team

Supervisory Responsibilities
Potential to oversee up to four Maintenance Mechanics.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of up to 480 v 3 phase electrical systems.
- Direct and perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance.
- Install all wiring and run conduit.
- Create work orders.
- Order parts and maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
- Maintain an inspection program for all motors and electrical equipment.
- Test existing equipment and determine if components need upgrade or replacement.
- Check switches, motors, regulators, and other parts of industrial electrical systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Repair lift trucks (LPG and Diesel) and equipment to sustain maximum production rates.
- Overhaul process systems and equipment to ensure optimal uptime.
- Ensure equipment is safe and in proper condition.
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain facility housekeeping.
Requirements
- Basic industrial, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and ladder diagrams.
- Basic welding skills.
- Ability to install 3 phase motors and control circuits.
- Ability to rebuild a gear box.
- Familiar with chillers, cooling towers, and pump skids.
- Understand PLC circuit inputs and outputs.
- Experience with natural gas burner.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Education and Experience
- High School, Vocational or Technical school Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Diesel mechanic or electrical certification a plus.
- Minimum of ten years maintenance/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting abilities required.
Physical Requirements
- Strength and stamina to perform medium to heavy physical work; may be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, and extreme noise in field work.
- Ability to work at varied heights and climb ladders.
- Operate hand and power tools; vision to read printed materials; color vision to identify electrical wires and pipes; finger dexterity to operate tools; ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb; lift, move, and carry materials up to 75 pounds and heavier with proper equipment.
