Qualifications

  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems up to 480V.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and material handling systems.
  • Diagnose and repair high-voltage electrical systems, including motor controls and transformers.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens or equivalent).
  • Read electrical schematics and technical manuals; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure safety through LOTO procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Support plant operations to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Maintain maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and material handling equipment. This position requires strong industrial maintenance experience with an emphasis on high-voltage electrical systems, PLC controls, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting. The Maintenance Technician supports plant operations by minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring equipment reliability. The ability to travel for future training, this position will be scheduled to work first shift as well as on call status.

Job Function
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, production equipment, conveyors, cranes, forklifts, and material handling systems.
  • Diagnose and repair high-voltage electrical systems, including motor controls, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, and power distribution equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment, machinery upgrades, and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors, and industrial communication devices.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as required.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure including lighting, plumbing, compressed air systems, and building repairs.
  • Utilize lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, and other safety procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Manage maintenance spare parts inventory and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs in a timely manner to maximize production uptime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V and higher. Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, diagnostics, and programming modifications. Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, servo systems, and automation equipment. Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Experience using multimeters, meggers, and other electrical diagnostic tools. Ability to safely perform lockout/tagout procedures and follow OSHA regulations. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license required.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $30.00/Hr. - USD $35.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
