Job summary

Cardinal Glass Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Facilities technician in the United States.

You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems within an industrial production environment, including power distribution, motors, and conveyors. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a four-year apprenticeship or equivalent, and industrial maintenance experience—knowledge of CMMS and robotics is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical focus preferred.
  • Four years of apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical or electrical fields.
  • Industrial maintenance experience, preferably in continuous operation.
  • Experience with electrical systems 24V–480V.
  • CMMS experience and robotics familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial facility.
  • Installing and maintaining power distribution, circuits, lighting, and transformers.
  • Installing and troubleshooting electrical control components (sensors, relays, timers, encoders).
  • Maintaining motors, gearboxes, drives, and conveyors; service of drives and fans.
  • Learning/using PLC ladder logic and related components.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team and other levels of the organization.
  • Performing other duties or projects as assigned.

  • Pay or shift range: $29.75 USD to $38.45 USD
    The salary range is applicable across the U.S. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, skill set, education, location and other job-related qualifications.

Description
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems typically found in an industrial production facility.
  • Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, and transformers.
  • Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electronic control components such as photo eyes, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, tachometers and encoders.
  • Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting motors, motor starters, gearboxes, drive systems, fans, pumps, conveyors, timing belts.
  • Understanding or ability to learn PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, control and communications modules).
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships across all levels of the organization, work as part of a dedicated maintenance team.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Ability to work in hot environments, temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Occasionally pushing and pulling wheeled carts loaded with tools or materials, weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Engaging in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely and without limitation.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments that may be noisy, with limited lighting, unheated, not air-conditioned.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.

Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required, degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field preferred.
  • Four years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field preferred
  • Maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably a continuous operation.
  • Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24V control through 480V supply.
  • Experience with maintaining and repairing robotic packaging systems is a plus.
  • Experience and proficiency in the following areas a plus:
    • Electrical and electronic principles
    • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
    • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    • Preventative maintenance procedures

  • Schedule is set/ 4 days week one/ 3 days week two, working only 14-15 days per month. Overtime available (plant operation is continuous: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays).
