Transdev in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across vehicles and equipment. You will lead tests, perform repairs, and ensure safety and reliability of the fleet.

• 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications preferred; 609/608 conditioning certification and additional H or T series ASE certifications preferred.
• CDL Class A or B with airbrakes and passenger endorsements desired.
• DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Transdev in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an A-Level Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

• Starting at $43.22 with progression to $54.00 over 6-year period

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance strategies for diesel engines.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications preferred. 609/608 conditioning certification and at least three H or T series ASE certification of which two include H2, T2 or H4 preferred.
• Mechanic’s Tool Set.
• Must be able to work morning, swing or graveyard shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Ability to obtain Class A or B commercial driver's license with airbrakes & passenger endorsements.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
