Cooper Machinery Services seeks a Mechanic II for our Houston Machine Shop. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, and test natural gas engine and compressor components, using micrometers, calipers, and indicators to ensure precision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience. You will operate manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, read detailed prints, and follow safety policies while documenting work and participating in training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in mechanical test/assembly/disassembly or heavy equipment repair.
• Ability to read detailed prints and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex equipment.
• Clean, inspect, and repair engine and compressor components in a shop.
• Use manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools for fitting and securing components.
• Read prints and verify precision with micrometers, dial calipers, and indicators.
• Set up and run test operations per engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Complete required documentation and training on time.
