Job summary

Herc Rentals in Carson, CA is seeking an experienced Mechanic B to maintain our fleet and support diagnostic and repair efforts. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect engines and systems, and troubleshoot electrical/hydraulic issues.

Responsibilities include diagnosing cooling and fuel systems, using computerized tools, and mentoring Mechanic C technicians. The role requires attention to safety and detailed service reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and power tools
• Ability to operate multiple vehicle types and equipment
• Proficiency in Mechanic C-level tasks and electrical/hydraulic systems reading schematics

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Diagnose and repair cooling, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair engines and electronic control units.
• Enter and review work orders and assist with parts ordering.
• Mentor Mechanic C technicians and maintain organized work area.
