Job summary

Herc Rentals in Boise is seeking a Mechanic B to perform preventative maintenance and intermediate diagnostics on a diverse fleet. You will work at the branch to keep equipment on the rental 'ready line' through safe, thorough service and timely repairs.

You will mentor Mechanic C staff, enter work orders, order parts, and follow all procedures while maintaining a clean, organized shop. This role requires reliability and a solid foundation in mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and power tools to complete most repairs.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Proficiency reading schematics and OEM manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all branch fleet.
• Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Enter and review work orders and order parts via fleet system.
• Mentor Mechanic C technicians and assist shop lead.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
