Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance at the branch, ensuring equipment is kept in a ready state. You will diagnose engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform major repairs with computerized tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of equipment.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C level tasks.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance at the branch with a consistent preventive maintenance schedule.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs independently.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, propane, and fuel systems.
• Repair and recalibrate hydraulic and aerial systems; inspect safety-critical components.
• Produce detailed service reports and maintain logs; follow procedures.
